The “Life Unmeasured” series pulls back the curtain on our obsession with self-optimization, the tracking, the hacking, the endless pursuit of “better.” It explores the cult of more and the quiet tyranny of measuring our worth in data points and daily streaks. Real freedom begins when we stop keeping score and start living for the joy of it.
Women are being erased and replaced by digital ghosts, as the beauty industry profits billions from manufactured female insecurity. AI-driven algorithms and social media filters have reshaped our standards until natural human features are seen as flaws. This is the new face of control but it can end if we say enough.
When I was building Riotess, I felt like the universe was in on it. Strange, serendipitous moments just kept lining up too perfectly well with what I was creating. The universe seemed to have my back. I was empowered to share the message that you have the power to see the beauty in yourself.
RIOTESS is a place for inspirational story sharing to lift and ignite the spirit. We challenge the standards that keep us small and promote a reclamation of unfiltered, self-defined living for women.
It’s 2 AM, and I’m mindlessly scrolling through social media, Googling a quick fix for the more prominent laugh lines I’ve started to see carve into my face. I feel embarrassed even admitting the fact, but in full disclosure, it is not the first time I’ve gone down the anti-aging rabbit hole. It’s the latest round in a years-long battle with my own reflection and I’m finally ready to call a truce.
What does it mean to “age gracefully?” We don’t demand such “grace” from any other natural process. No one is out here trying to digest gracefully. Breathe gracefully. Shit gracefully. We definitely don’t tell men to ejaculate gracefully. This is a deep dive into society’s most patronizing phrase.
